Dill (Anethum graveolens) is a plant native to the Mediterranean.

Dill weed is part of the Apiaceae family which also includes parsley and bay leaf.

Dill became a popular herb in England as early as the 17th century.

The earliest known record of Dill being used was found in Egypt from 5,000 years ago where it was used as a medicinal herb. In modern day Dill is used for its distinct flavour in cooking.
