Sea salt is produced through the evaporation of ocean water or water from saltwater lakes. This process allows the salt to maintain its essential mineral content. Table salt is chemically refined (stripped of its trace minerals) and is usually mixed with anticaking agents which is why sea salt is referred to as the healthier option. Salt comes in many forms and has a wide number of uses and applications. A few examples of salt types are, sodium chloride (Cooking salt), magnesium sulphate (epsom salt), sodium carbonate (baking soda).
